Importance of Proteins, Vitamins and Minerals
By Paul Zane Pilzer, The Wellness Revolution
One of the major problem with the diet of most people is that they are not getting the minimum amounts of building blocks and/or catalysts that their bodies require.
Although most adults think of their bodies as fully grown, the individual cells that comprise their organs actually replace themselves on a daily to monthly schedule. Our bodies manufacture 200 billion red blood cells each day, replacing all the blood in our body every 120 days. Skin is completely replace every 1 to 3 months. It takes 90 days for old bone to be broken down and replace by new bone.
The cells that comprise these replacement organs contain over 100,000 different proteins made up of 20 different amino acids. Food supplies us with plant and animal proteins containing the amino acids that our bodies require as the building blocks of this living tissue.
Without a daily supply of proteins, vitamins and minerals, no matter how much energy we get in the form of calories, our bodies and minds deteriorate because we are not able to fully replace the dying cells in our internal and external organs.
Food also supplies with certain minerals we require as building blocks to repair and regenerate our living matter. There are 14 essential minerals, some of which are required as catalysts rather than as mineral blocks. Seven of these are major minerals, defined as those of which we need more than 100 milligrams per day – Calcium, chloride, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, and sulfur. The remaining seven are called trace minerals, such as iron and zinc.
In addition to supplying proteins and minerals as building blocks, food contains the 13 essential vitamins our bodies require as catalysts to convert food into energy and to convert amino acids into bodily tissue. A catalyst is a substance that must be present, typically in a very small quantity, for a specific chemical reaction to occur. For example, without vitamin B3, which is contained in green leafy vegetables and unprocessed grains, our bodies cannot break down plant and animal proteins into basic amino acids. It doesn’t matter how much protein you eat if your body cant convert into the building blocks of your living tissues.
When we don’t get enough protein, vitamins, and minerals, our initial symptoms include mood swings, fatigue, nervousness, headaches, confusion, and muscle weakness. Over the longer term, such poor nutrition can cause cancer, hypertension, Alzheimer’s disease, and many other diseases that we used to just accept as part of our aging process.

Foundation Of Weight Loss Success
By Julia Havey, eDiets, June 2006
WATER. Water is so important to the sucess of your weight loss journey. Our bodies are made of 75 % water, and our brain is made of 85 % water. It makes sense that if you arent consuming fresh water each day that you will become a stagnant pool of water – and that just cant be a good thing!
Water is nature’s best appetite suppressant. No pill ever made works as well as water. So drink water and a lot of it. It will do your body good!
EXERCISE. You have to move your body, get oxygen flowing and build muscle and strong bones. “If your lifestyle does not control your body, eventually your body will control lifestyle.. The choice is yours!” said Ern Baxter, author of “I Almost Died.”
If the most you can do today is walk for 5 minutes in place, then walk for 5 minutes in place! Do that a few times this week and then next week, do 7 minutes and so on. Gradually increasing your level of fitness to where you can and DO 60 minutes of cardiovascular exercise 4 times a week and a few days of weight training thrown in. Get your body moving!
NUTRITION. It is so easy to say “exercise and eat right” when offering weight-loss advice. If you gear your mind to eating healthy foods for the sole reason that you will “lose weight”, what happens once you reach your goal weight: That’s right! You go “off” your “diet” or healthy nutritious eating and the weight comes back on with vengeance. However, if this time you vow to live healthfully and realize that consuming proper nutrient is simply part of a healthy life, then you are much more likely to keep with it for the long haul – not only to lose excess weight, but also to live the life of your dreams for the rest of your life!
ATTITUDE. Your attitude – how you feel about what you are doing and why you are doing it – will determine how well you do. You can be down in the dumps and feel like you are the only one dealing with your issues and concerns and allow that bad attitude to have you heading to the refrigerator hourly OR you can realize that you are NOT alone.
Now you know what you need to do. Four easy cornerstones need to be in place and you WILL succeed! Each corner is being equally as important as the other. The house will not able to stand without all of them in place solidly.
Then, it’s just a matter of how big you want to build, how hard you want to work and what your finished product will look like, but it will be amazing and it will be YOURS!

Skipping Meals Can Help To Lose Weight ?
Many people think that by skipping a meal, they eat less food and therefore lose weight. This is one of the biggest weight loss myth.
People who think skipping meals means weight loss fail to recognize that our bodies do not operate this way. If we skip a meal, our body will think that we are in starvation mode and therefore slow down the metabolism to compensate and making you physically and mentally sluggish. Thus, we tend to overeat at the next meal and results in an increase in total caloric intake than if we just ate more frequently throughout the day. A better approach is to eat smaller frequent healthy meals and snacks to keep our blood sugar balanced..

So if you carry on to starve yourself, prepare to gain some weight!

Stressful But Happy Week
Sorry for delay in updating my blog, it has been 1 week since I made the last post. From 23th-June-2008 to 27th-June-2008, I was having my Mid Semester Test. That’s why I never update my blog.
On Thursday, 26th-June-2008, I called my customer to discuss about taking the products at a cheaper price. Then she told me her sinus just suddenly gone after taking the shake as a breakfast every single morning, and also her clothes starting to get looser which means she has lost some inches too. The feeling was so great to hear her saying this. I never ask her at all, she own self told me de. ![]()
Then on Friday, 27th-June-2008, as usual I went to my mentor house for training. The topic she teaches for that day is marketing plan. Every time I went to her house, surely I learn something one. Now the confidence of explaining the marketing plan is starting to get stronger & stronger.
Then back to today, 29th-June-2008, I went to my ITE friend daughter full month celebration at Parc Vista Condominium. His daughter is so cute.
Good for him, when his daughter 20 yrs old, he only 44. After that can relax already. HAHAHAHA.
That’ All.

Today, 21st-June-2008, it’s Herbalife’s Customer Day for the Month of June. Again this time, I am part of the Support Team helping out in the music section. Basically my job scope is to bring the crowd alive & don’t let it be dead. HAHAHA. Supposedly event should stop at 6pm but over-run till 6.45pm, by the time debrief finish it’s around 7.15pm.
After which, went to catch a movie with friends at West Mall. The movie is “The Incredible Hulk”, I would give it a 8 out of 10 rating. Lots of fighting action towards the end, just like playing game. HEHEHE.
